August is moving quickly at Celenic Earth Publications, and so are our available publishing opportunities. At the beginning of the month, we opened 10 publishing contract opportunities for authors looking to take the next step with their manuscripts. Three have now been claimed, which means there are only seven publishing contracts remaining for August 2026.
If you have been sitting with a completed manuscript, polishing the final chapters of your novel, or wondering whether this is finally the year to approach a publisher, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
Celenic Earth Publications (CEP) is a South African-based publishing company working with writers from around the world. Our goal has always been to help authors transform their manuscripts into professionally published books while providing guidance throughout the publishing journey.
With seven August contracts still available, we’re looking forward to discovering what new stories may be waiting in our submissions inbox.
What Are We Looking for From Authors?

One of the advantages of submitting to CEP is that you do not need to wait for your genre to have its moment before approaching us.
We accept manuscript submissions across a broad selection of fiction and non-fiction categories throughout the year. Our current submission categories include historical fiction, thrillers, fantasy, crime, contemporary fiction, science fiction, horror, comedy, spiritual and inspirational books, non-fiction, romance, and mystery.
That means the question isn’t necessarily whether your manuscript fits what we’re accepting right now.
The more important question is: Do you believe your manuscript is ready to become a published book?
We’re interested in authors who have stories they genuinely want to share with readers. You may have spent years developing an enormous fantasy world, written a terrifying horror novel, completed an emotional romance, investigated a fascinating subject for a non-fiction project, or created something that refuses to sit comfortably inside one genre.
We want to see it.
You Don’t Need to Be an Established Author
Approaching a publisher can feel intimidating, particularly when you’re preparing to submit your first manuscript.
There can be a misconception among aspiring writers that publishers are primarily interested in established authors who already have an audience. However, every published author had to begin somewhere.
CEP welcomes writers at different stages of their careers. What matters is the manuscript you bring to us and its potential.
You don’t need a catalogue containing ten previous novels.
You don’t need thousands of social-media followers.
You don’t need to have already built an enormous author platform.
What you do need is a manuscript you’re serious about publishing and a willingness to work with us as we prepare it for readers.
What Happens When You Submit Your Manuscript?
We’ve deliberately kept the initial submission process straightforward.
Authors begin by selecting the genre that most closely matches their manuscript and reviewing the relevant submission information. From there, you can complete the submission form and send your manuscript for consideration.
Submitting your book doesn’t automatically mean that a publishing contract will be offered. We still need to evaluate the manuscript and determine whether we believe CEP is the right publishing home for it.
That distinction matters.
Our remaining seven contracts are publishing opportunities, rather than seven automatic acceptances for the next seven manuscripts that arrive.
We want to work with books and authors where we believe there is a good fit between the manuscript, the writer and our publishing services.
More Than Uploading a Book

Publishing a book involves far more than converting a Word document into an ebook and placing it online.
A manuscript needs to become a finished product.
CEP’s publishing services can include professional editing, formatting and custom cover design, while our publishing model is designed to help authors move from submission towards having their books available to readers through major platforms.
There is an enormous difference between finishing a manuscript and preparing a book for publication.
The first belongs largely to the author.
The second becomes a collaboration.
It’s one of the reasons we limit how many new publishing contracts we take on within these campaigns. Every new project adds another manuscript, author and publishing journey requiring attention.
Why Submit Your Book in August?
There will always be another reason to wait.
Maybe you want to rewrite one more chapter.
Maybe you want to read the manuscript for the twentieth time.
Maybe you’re worried that a publisher won’t like it.
Perhaps you’ve convinced yourself that you’ll submit it when you feel more confident.
Most writers know that cycle.
There comes a point, however, when editing becomes hesitation. If your manuscript is complete and you’ve taken the time to make it as strong as you reasonably can, submitting it doesn’t commit you to anything.
It simply allows the conversation to begin.
For August 2026, that conversation has already begun with several authors.
Ten publishing contract opportunities were available at the start of the month. Seven remain.
What Should You Have Ready?
You don’t need to create an elaborate presentation before approaching us. Focus on your book and make sure you can clearly explain what you’ve written.
Before submitting, it helps to have:
- Your completed or publication-ready manuscript
- The book title and relevant genre
- A clear idea of what your story or book is about
- Your author details
- Any useful information about the intended audience
- The willingness to work collaboratively through the publishing process
Most importantly, don’t try to make your manuscript sound like something it isn’t.
We would rather discover what makes your book interesting.
Seven Contracts. Seven Potential New Publishing Journeys.
Every publishing contract represents more than another book added to a catalogue.
Behind it is an author who spent months or years writing.
There are characters somebody created from nothing. Worlds that previously existed only in someone’s imagination. Research conducted late at night. Chapters deleted and rewritten. Plot problems solved. Covers imagined long before there was a publisher attached to the project.
Eventually, however, a manuscript needs someone to say:
I’m ready to send this out into the world.
For seven authors, August 2026 could become the month that happens with Celenic Earth Publications.
We don’t know which books will claim those remaining contracts yet.
Perhaps yours will be one of them.
