Fans of supernatural horror have a new way to experience the terrifying world of Sacred Valley. South African author Shaun M Jooste has officially launched Sacred Valley: Betrayal | The Serialised Edition, dividing the original novel into three smaller books for readers who prefer shorter, more manageable reading experiences.
The first two books are already available on Amazon in eBook, paperback and hardcover formats, with the third and final instalment arriving next week. This means the complete serialised collection will be available in time for Halloween 2026.
Why Split Sacred Valley: Betrayal into Three Books?

Not every reader enjoys tackling a lengthy novel in one sitting. Some prefer shorter books that offer natural stopping points, particularly when exploring an extensive supernatural horror story filled with mythology, mysteries and terrifying creatures.
The new serialised edition addresses this preference without sacrificing the original narrative. Rather than rewriting the story or removing content, the novel has been divided into three distinct parts, allowing readers to explore the unfolding horrors of Sacred Valley: Betrayal at their own pace.
The three-part structure also creates opportunities to experience the story in a more episodic format, with recaps helping readers reconnect with events from previous instalments.
Meet the Three Books in the Serialised Edition
The Sacred Valley: Betrayal collection consists of three instalments:
- Book 1: Wild Dogs of Justice – The opening chapter of the nightmare, introducing readers to the mysteries and supernatural dangers surrounding Sacred Valley.
- Book 2: Blood of a Serial Killer – The second instalment takes readers deeper into the disturbing secrets and deadly threats unfolding within the story.
- Book 3: The Horned Beast – The final instalment brings the serialised edition to its conclusion as the horrors of Sacred Valley reach their climax.
Together, these books contain the original Sacred Valley: Betrayal story, presented in a format designed for readers who enjoy collecting and reading shorter volumes.
Books 1 and 2 Are Available Now on Amazon
Readers can already purchase the first two books in three different formats on Amazon: Kindle eBook, paperback and hardcover.
The physical editions provide an additional opportunity for horror collectors to build their own three-book Sacred Valley collection, while the digital versions offer convenient reading on Kindle devices and compatible applications.
Book 3, The Horned Beast, is scheduled for release next week. Due to Amazon’s current publishing limitation of two new titles per week for the applicable format, the final instalment must wait until the next publishing window.
Fortunately, the timing works perfectly for horror fans. All three books are expected to be available before Halloween, making the collection an ideal October reading adventure.
