Publishing one book is an exciting achievement. Publishing an entire series requires a much greater commitment, both from the author and the publishing team supporting the project.

At Celenic Earth Publications, we work with authors who have plans extending beyond a single novel or book. When an author already knows that they want to publish a complete series with us, we may offer a discounted book series publishing bundle covering multiple books.

The important distinction is that the discounted rate applies when the complete publishing bundle is paid for upfront.

What Is a Book Series Publishing Bundle?

A series publishing bundle allows an author to commission Celenic Earth Publications to work on several books as one larger publishing project rather than contracting each title individually.

For example, an author planning a trilogy, five-book collection or longer series can discuss the entire project with us from the beginning. We can then evaluate the books, their anticipated lengths, publishing requirements and the services required across the series.

Where appropriate, we can provide a customised bundle quotation at a discounted overall rate.

This gives both the author and our publishing team a clear understanding of the long-term project from the outset.

Why Does the Discount Require Upfront Payment?

The discounted rate is offered in exchange for the author’s commitment to publishing the complete agreed series with Celenic Earth Publications.

For that reason, the full publishing bundle needs to be paid upfront for the discount to apply.

Paying for one book at a time while receiving the discounted per-book bundle rate would effectively provide the benefits of committing to the entire series without the corresponding commitment. An author could potentially publish the first book at the reduced rate and then decide not to continue with the remaining titles. This is unfair to the publisher.

Our bundle structure protects the commitment being made on both sides.

Once a series package has been agreed upon and paid for, we know that we are working together on the complete project and can plan accordingly.

Why We Don’t Advertise a Fixed Series Price

Every book series is different, which is why Celenic Earth Publications does not apply one universal price to every publishing bundle.

Several factors can influence a quotation, including:

– The number of books planned for the series
– The approximate length of each manuscript
– The type and complexity of the books
– The publishing services required
– The author’s location and applicable currency

A short children’s book series, for example, has very different production requirements from a collection of lengthy fantasy novels.

We therefore assess each proposed series individually before providing a customised quotation.

What If You Don’t Want to Pay for the Whole Series Upfront?

Authors are not required to select a series bundle.

If you would prefer to publish one book first and decide about future titles later, you can commission the books individually. Each book would then be quoted and paid for separately according to the applicable publishing package and requirements.

This gives authors the freedom to choose the arrangement that best suits their circumstances.

The difference is simply that the series bundle discount is reserved for authors who commit financially to the complete agreed package upfront.

There are advantages to approaching a series as one long-term publishing project. Beyond the financial savings offered through a bundle, it allows us to consider consistency across the books from the beginning.

Elements such as branding, cover direction, formatting, series presentation and release planning can all be considered within the wider vision of the collection.
