A new wave of horror soundscapes

To celebrate Halloween, Apogee Entertainment revealed that Yamaoka composed an original track for the game titled “Catharsis”, an emotionally charged theme that perfectly mirrors Total Chaos’ descent into psychological torment. A one-minute preview of the track debuted exclusively on GameSpot, giving fans a taste of the eerie sonic journey that awaits later this year.
“Many of us at Apogee have dreamed of working with Yamaoka-san, so when the opportunity came up for him to become involved with our first survival horror title, we jumped at the chance,” said Apogee’s Executive Producer, Jeron Moore. “Yamaoka-san absolutely understood the assignment. Catharsis perfectly captures the emotional journey of Total Chaos’ protagonist. Players will hear his theme woven throughout the game alongside haunting, oftentimes unnerving tracks composed by Jason Dagenet, William Braddell, Chipper Hammond, Tim Stoney, and Mathieu Hallouin, with the full song bookending the journey in the game credits.”
From DOOM mod to full horror experience

What began as an award-winning DOOM II total conversion mod has evolved into a fully realized standalone title. Under the creative direction of developer Sam Prebble, known for his work on Turbo Overkill and blockbuster films like Avatar, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Total Chaos delivers a bone-chilling atmosphere that gnaws away at the player’s sense of safety.
Descent into Fort Oasis

The game draws players into Fort Oasis, a once-thriving mining colony now reduced to a desolate wasteland of madness and ruin. A pervasive sense of being watched infects every corner of this island, where grotesque creatures and broken souls wander the shadows. As players shoot, bludgeon, and survive their way through this nightmare, they’ll uncover fragments of forgotten lives and the harrowing truth behind Fort Oasis’ downfall, and their own role in it.
