Free League Publishing has unleashed a terrifying new era for tabletop sci-fi horror with the release of the ALIEN RPG: Evolved Edition. Alongside the modernised core rulebook, fans can dive into Rapture Protocol, a brand-new cinematic adventure, and a fully redesigned Starter Set that upgrades the experience for both newcomers and veterans. With fresh artwork, refined mechanics, and high-quality accessories, the ALIEN RPG universe just became even more immersive, and even deadlier.
The best part is that physical copies of the ALIEN RPG board game and the expansions are on their way to us, courtesy of Free League Publishing, so we’re very excited to get our hands on this!
A modernised ALIEN RPG experience

The new ALIEN RPG: Evolved Edition Core Rulebook brings a fully updated, streamlined ruleset to the award-winning tabletop game. Free League has rebuilt its iconic system with improved mechanics for talents, stress and panic, stealth, and combat, especially armour, ammo, grenades, and ship-to-ship encounters. Everything fans loved about the original remains intact, but now the engine is tighter, faster, and more cinematic.
This edition is also a visual upgrade. The book features an entirely redesigned layout by Johan Nohr (MÖRK BORG), new interior maps, and a chilling cover by Colm Geoghegan (Creepy Duck Design). Additional tools have been added through years of community feedback, including zero-gravity rules, miniature support, and expanded campaign play. The book introduces the Tartarus Sector, a fully realised region of deep-space frontier lore, plus Last Survivor, a solo-play mode offering an intense one-player ALIEN experience.
A redesigned Starter Set to welcome new survivors

The Evolved Edition Starter Set by Free League Publishing has been rebuilt from the ground up to serve as the perfect entry point into the ALIEN RPG. Inside are streamlined rules, pre-generated characters, custom dice, tokens, reference sheets, a supply dial, and cinematic handouts, everything needed for a complete game night in one box. It’s a beginner-friendly package that still offers depth for veteran players.
The highlight is the expanded edition of Hope’s Last Day, the beloved scenario set on Hadley’s Hope just before the events of Aliens (1986). The included giant maps: one of Hadley’s Hope and one of charted space in 2183, pair with a new Xenomorph miniature to deliver a tabletop experience that captures the tension of the films. With gameplay tools designed for fast, atmospheric sessions, the Starter Set ensures that no one escapes unscathed.
Rapture Protocol launches a new cinematic trilogy

Alongside the Evolved Edition, Free League has released Rapture Protocol, a complete cinematic adventure and the first chapter in the Jeremiah Saga trilogy. This scenario sends players aboard the starfreighter USS Fidanza on what begins as a routine supply run, until the crew reaches the industrial colony Jeremiah VI. What they find there is unknown, hostile, and very much alive.
The boxed set includes a scenario guide, pre-generated characters, personal-agenda cards, tokens, and a massive double-sided map of the Fidanza and Jeremiah VI. To support the action, a new Rapture Protocol Miniatures Set introduces 20 highly detailed 28mm figures, from space truckers to Xenomorphs, crafted to match the cinematic maps across the ALIEN RPG line. A simplified skirmish booklet enables fast tactical encounters, turning every corridor into a battleground. With the new MU/TH/UR-themed Game Mother’s Screen also available, running ALIEN has never been smoother… or more suspenseful.
A new dawn of deep-space horror
The ALIEN RPG: Evolved Edition marks the next evolutionary step for Free League’s acclaimed sci-fi horror tabletop game. With a refined rule system, a cinematic trilogy opener, upgraded accessories, and an expanded entry experience, both longtime fans and new players have more ways than ever to step into the deadly universe of ALIEN. One thing is certain: in space, no one can hear your players scream.
