September is approaching quickly, and here at Celenic Earth Publications (CEP), our publishing calendar is already shaping up to be an incredibly busy one.

That is fantastic news for us and for the authors currently working with our publishing team. However, it also means something important for writers who have finished manuscripts sitting on their computers while they wait for the right opportunity.

We may reach a point where we simply cannot accept additional publishing projects for September.

September Is Already Looking Busy at CEP

Publishing a book involves considerably more than uploading a manuscript and pressing a button.

Every book that Celenic Earth Publications accepts becomes part of our production schedule. Depending on the project and publishing agreement, there may be editing, proofreading, formatting, cover preparation, metadata development, distribution preparation and other work that needs to happen before the finished book reaches readers.

September is already expected to be a busy month across CEP and the wider Celenic Earth Network.

That means our available publishing capacity needs to be managed carefully.

We would rather accept a reasonable number of projects and give those books the attention they deserve than continuously bring in new manuscripts simply for the sake of increasing our publishing numbers.

For prospective authors, however, that creates a limited window of opportunity.

We Don’t Need to Fill Every Publishing Spot

There is an important distinction we want authors to understand.

When we announce that publishing opportunities are available, it does not mean CEP needs to fill every available position before a particular deadline.

Quite the opposite.

If our September production schedule becomes full because of existing publishing projects and other commitments, we may close or restrict new publishing applications even if we haven’t filled every publishing spot we originally intended to make available.

Our capacity matters more than hitting an arbitrary number.

CEP is building a growing publishing catalogue, and every new manuscript represents another author trusting us with something they may have spent months or even years creating.

That responsibility deserves proper attention.

Your Finished Manuscript Could Be Next

Perhaps your manuscript is already complete.

Maybe you have spent months editing it yourself, asking friends to read chapters and wondering whether the story is finally ready.

September is almost here, and our workload for the month will continue developing regardless of whether every prospective author who has been considering CEP decides to contact us.

Once we reach the level of work we can comfortably manage, we may need to limit additional publishing projects.

We cannot promise that the same opportunities available today will still be available later in September.
