ARMAGEDDON is coming. Following a powerful tease last week, Marvel confirms that the upcoming Armageddon event will reshape the future of the Marvel Universe, promising transformations that rival Avengers: Disassembled. The first chapter begins with Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon, a four-issue limited series launching this February.
Wolverine Returns to the Shadows of Weapon X

Written by Chip Zdarsky (Captain America, Daredevil) and illustrated by Luca Maresca (Superior Avengers), Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon places Logan back on a collision course with his past. When an old ally calls for help locating an abducted mutant, Wolverine uncovers a horrifying truth: the Weapon X program is far from dead.
As he hunts through layers of military secrecy and corporate power, he encounters PRIMEWARRIOR, a ruthless organisation creating new super-soldiers. Their latest weapon is as familiar as it is dangerous: NUKE, reborn and more lethal than ever.
The First Chapter of a Universe-Wide Crisis

Zdarsky described the series as “essential reading” for fans following his Captain America (2025) storyline and those eager to see where Marvel is heading next.
“The Road to Armageddon starts with super soldiers, starts with the Weapon X program,” Zdarsky explained. “And Wolverine is going to kick off the end of everything.”
Artist Luca Maresca added that working on Wolverine is “a dream come true,” calling it both a challenge and a joy to capture Logan’s raw energy and tormented depth.
“I hope readers are as excited as I am,” Maresca said. “This is going to be something crazy and unforgettable.”
