As we move into 2026, Celenic Earth Publications is sharpening its editorial focus, with a renewed commitment to in-depth TTRPG reviews. Over the past year, we’ve been fortunate to receive an overwhelming number of tabletop roleplaying titles in physical format posted from industry partners, making it clear that our review coverage needs to evolve alongside the medium itself. As a result, TTRPG reviews will now take centre stage in our tabletop content lineup.
This shift allows us to deliver more structured, thoughtful, and experience-driven TTRPG reviews, focusing on narrative depth, mechanical design, worldbuilding, accessibility, and long-term campaign play. Our review slate includes titles from respected publishers such as Free League Publishing and Modiphius Entertainment, alongside a growing number of indie and experimental systems that push the boundaries of tabletop roleplaying.
While TTRPG reviews are our primary focus, this editorial direction also leaves room for selective tabletop game reviews and carefully chosen roleplaying board game reviews where storytelling, character progression, and immersive play are core to the experience. This approach ensures clarity for our readers while maintaining the flexibility to explore narrative-driven tabletop design in all its forms.
We are building a series of Dungeons & Dragons articles on how to play these types of games. Make sure you don’t miss them!

Which TTRPG Reviews Will We Be Covering in 2026?
As part of our expanded editorial direction, our TTRPG reviews in 2026 will focus on games that prioritise strong narrative design, meaningful player choice, and long-term playability. Rather than attempting to cover every release, we will concentrate on systems that offer depth, originality, and a clear creative vision. This curated approach allows our TTRPG reviews to go beyond first impressions, examining how these games perform across full campaigns, different group dynamics, and varied play styles.
Our coverage will include a balanced mix of established publishers, innovative indie creators, and narrative-forward roleplaying experiences, ensuring our TTRPG reviews remain informative, relevant, and valuable for both new and experienced players. For the upcoming reviews, we will be focusing on The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying, The One Ring, Coriolis Expansions, ALIEN, and DOOM Arena. Let’s discuss each one.
The Lord of the Rings™ Roleplaying – Exploring Middle-earth Through Standalone Adventures
Published by Free League Publishing, The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying is a narrative-focused tabletop roleplaying game set in the richly detailed world of Middle-earth. Designed to balance lore authenticity with accessible roleplaying mechanics, the game allows players to experience their own stories within Tolkien’s legendarium while remaining grounded in its themes of hope, corruption, and fellowship.
As part of our expanded TTRPG reviews coverage for 2026, we will be reviewing each book in The Lord of the Rings™ Roleplaying line separately. While all expansions require the Core Rulebook, each supplement presents its own distinct stories, locations, and campaign opportunities. This means groups can explore the expansions in any order that suits their table, without being locked into a rigid progression. Our TTRPG reviews will assess each title independently, focusing on narrative design, usability, replay value, and how effectively each book supports long-term play.

The One Ring™ Roleplaying – Journeys Through a World on the Brink of Shadow
Published by Free League Publishing, The One Ring is a tabletop roleplaying game built around the quieter, more perilous years of Middle-earth between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Where other games lean heavily into heroics and spectacle, The One Ring places its focus on journeys, fellowship, fatigue, corruption, and the slow rise of Shadow. It is a system designed for long-form storytelling, where choices carry weight and victories are often subtle rather than spectacular.
As part of our ongoing TTRPG reviews, each book in The One Ring Roleplaying line will be reviewed separately throughout 2026. While the Core Rulebook is required to play, the expansions are not locked into a fixed narrative order. Each supplement offers its own themes, locations, and campaign opportunities, allowing groups to explore Middle-earth in a way that best suits their table. Our TTRPG reviews will assess how each title supports narrative play, long-term campaigns, and the unique emotional tone that defines The One Ring.

Published by Free League Publishing, the ALIEN Roleplaying Game translates the iconic sci-fi horror universe into a tense, cinematic tabletop experience. Built around stress mechanics, escalating danger, and fragile characters, the system is designed to evoke the same sense of dread, desperation, and moral collapse that defines the films. Survival is never guaranteed, and every decision carries consequences.
As part of our expanded TTRPG reviews for 2026, we will be reviewing each ALIEN Roleplaying Game product separately. While the Core Rulebook provides the foundation, each scenario and expansion offers a distinct narrative experience, from short, high-intensity cinematic play to longer campaign-driven stories. The Core Rulebook introduces the rules, setting lore, stress system, and campaign framework that define the game. Our TTRPG review will examine how well the mechanics reinforce survival horror, how accessible the system is for new players, and how flexible it is for both cinematic scenarios and long-term campaign play.
🚀 Starter Set: Hope’s Last Day

Set shortly before the events of Alien (1979), this cinematic starter scenario places players on Hadley’s Hope as everything begins to unravel. Our TTRPG review will focus on how effectively the demo communicates the full gameplay experience, the quality and usability of the physical components, and how well the system translates high-intensity digital action into a tabletop format.
By covering titles like DOOM Arena, we are able to explore the intersection between roleplaying mechanics and board game design, while keeping our TTRPG reviews firmly centred on narrative-driven, immersive play rather than traditional abstract or family board games.
Fallout: Factions – Battle for Nuka-World

Published by Modiphius Entertainment, Fallout: Factions – Battle for Nuka-World brings the Fallout universe to the tabletop through skirmish-scale, faction-driven gameplay. Set in the iconic post-apocalyptic theme park, the game focuses on tactical encounters, territory control, and the brutal consequences of survival in a fractured wasteland.
