Wuthering Waves has officially entered its next major chapter. On 25 December, Kuro Games released Version 3.0, a substantial update that marks the beginning of Chapter III in the game’s episodic campaign.
Titled “We Who See The Stars,” Version 3.0 introduces an ambitious new narrative arc that blends mechanical science fiction with space romance. The update launches with two acts and sets the stage for a darker, more emotionally driven storyline as players are called to face looming calamities and ignite the night itself.

A new chapter and a new world
At the heart of Wuthering Waves Version 3.0 is Chapter III, which unfolds across two main quests: What Burns Beneath Frostlands and Ode to the Second Sunrise. These quests take players to Lahai-Roi, a newly introduced underground region hidden beneath the Roya Frostlands. Shaped by an ancient polar shift, Lahai-Roi has evolved into a warm, humid sanctuary filled with prehistoric life and a highly independent ecosystem.
Players will also gain access to Startorch Academy, a central location in the new chapter, alongside a fresh exploration method, a redesigned map style, and the new Expedition Motorbike utility, which adds a faster, more dynamic way to traverse the environment.
New resonators, weapons, and challenges

Version 3.0 expands the playable roster with two new Resonators, Lynae and Mornye, each bringing unique abilities and combat styles. A variety of new weapons and systems have also been introduced, including the Spectrum Blaster, Starfield Calibrator, and the Synth Armament Series.
The update adds new Echoes, Phantom Echoes, Sonata Effects, and high-difficulty recurring challenges such as Doubled Pawns Matrix: Pilot, as well as permanent and tactical hologram challenges designed to test veteran players.
Events, collaborations, and community rewards

Alongside the core content, Version 3.0 delivers a wide range of events. Highlights include a Persona and Sonic collaboration with SEGA, multiple exploration and leisure events, competitive Echo combat challenges, and themed login rewards. Players can also participate in the Solaris Supercup™ Series as part of the Fan Creation Program.
To celebrate the update and recent accolades, Kuro Games has gifted 1,600 Astrite to players via in-game mail.
Awards and industry recognition

As Version 3.0 launches, Wuthering Waves continues to gain major recognition across the industry. The game recently received honours from several prestigious organisations, including the The Game Awards, PlayStation, Google Play, and the Hollywood Music In Media Awards.
Kuro Games CEO and producer Solon credited the development team’s perseverance for the success, noting that the upcoming chapter aims to deliver a fresh experience through new systems, Resonators, monsters, and an entirely new narrative setting.
